The main difference between digital marketing and social media is that social media is a part of Digital marketing. Most of the people who are engaging in social media thinking that they are doing digital marketing, but that is not true. Simply Social media is a major component of Internet Marketing is part of Digital marketing.


What is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing is the process of promoting products worldwide, through the internet and other electronic mediums. There are mainly two types of digital marketing, Organic and Inorganic. Organic digital marketing means, getting customers naturally by time, Inorganic means, it’s an artificial way of attracting customers by boosting posts or paid links.

Online Marketing
Search engine marketing – includes SEO and Pay per click advertising, mobile marketing (i.e. Google Play, Apple Store), email marketing, online banner advertising, video marketing, and Social Media marketing.
Offline Marketing
Television, Radio, SMS and Digital billboards are the best examples of offline marketing.

Influencer marketing is a popular social media like Instagram and Snap chat. Companies use celebrities and people who have a large number of followers to promote their brand by posting a few photos with their products.

Viral marketing is a business strategy that allows customers to promote the company products or brands by using existing Social Media.
